Pocari Sweat

Review A cloudy, salty-looking drink. It smells citrusy, but the taste... well, I've never been crazy about these electrolyte Gatorade-type drinks. Yes it does cool the tongue and soothe the throat with an aloe-like gooiness. Yes, it is slightly more compelling than plain water. Yes, it does have lots of ions and salts to replenish the tired and the exercised. But if you're thirsty in mind more than thirsty in body, this drink does little to uplift the soul. It is functional, but not too inspiring. As a Gatorade-style drink, I suppose this does do its duty well. Its cool and flowery, and there is a good balance of citrus to salt. It is refreshing in that way. There's something odd about the Pocari Sweat logo, though. The spacing between the letters is awkward. Too far apart in places, way too close in others.
