History The bottling company Erbak-Uludağ İçecek A.Ş. was founded in 1930 by Mehmet Hakkı Erbak and his son Nuri to market carbonated and still mineral water from a spring at the base of Mount Uludağ near Bursa, Turkey. In 1932, Nuri created the recipe for a sweetened citrus carbonated drink made from the mineral water called Uludağ Gazoz. Uludag Orange was introduced in 1955, in the 1980s came diet versions of the soda and more recently the many flavors of Uludag Frutti. The company is still owned by the Erbak family and currently run by Mehmet Erbak, the grandson of its founder. Review Zesty on the tongue - a candy-like soda. Reminds me of Zotz candy. Its the taste of citric acid without much particular fruit flavor. I was expecting more from this soda, I guess. Its so non-descript its just not exciting to drink. Its more like a sparkling mineral water with lemon added. Except it has too much sugar, so that its not refreshingly clean like a sparkling water. Seems a little salty like a mineral water, though. As a soft drink its just not interesting. The lemony citrus taste is left on my tongue after drinking this. It just seems kind of sticky, not refreshing, like Uludag Orange.
