DG Cream Soda
12 oz. bottle 3.75 g sugar / oz. |
History Eugene Peter Desnoes and Thomas Hargreaves Geddes formed a partnership in 1918 to make carbonated beverages. Desnoes & Geddes also sold imported liquor and beer until establishing the Surrey Brewery in Kingston to produce their own Red Stripe beer in 1928. In 1966 a larger soft drink bottling plant was added in Montego Bay. In 1999 Desnoes & Geddes sold the soda pop bottling side of its business to the Pepsi-Cola Jamaica Bottling Co. which continues to produce the D&G brands under license. Review The drink is not so creamy as I'd imagined. It's almost a little salty. The cream flavor is almost more of a coconut than the vanilla flavor that I usually expect from a cream soda. It's a little odd and off-putting. Other flavors here are a citrusy, vaguely lemon-lime flavor and sweet sugar. The flavor is vague and a bit salty.
